Christian children’s ministry leaders are partnering with churches from around the world to host an online vacation bible school – WOW VBS (Virtual Bible Spectacular) – to counter cancellations resulting from COVID-19.

WOW-VBS organizers say they would like to see 10,000 churches participate in the program for children that’s planned to stream live on Monday, June 22 – Thursday, June 24.

The entire VBS program will be repeated again Monday, June 29 – Thursday, July 2.

The four-episode, four-day Virtual Bible Spectacular event will feature different hosts from around the world, kids ministry guest artists, and celebrity cameos.

Churches may host watch parties through Facebook Watch Parties, YouTube at FaithKidz TV, and create a shared VBS experience for their kids.

Each program is a 30-40 minute program that will be streamed as a FB Live and YouTube Live.

“We’ve had so many people catching the vision—and jumping on board,” Co-Producer Scott Humston said. “Large and small ministries. Well-known believers and those who just influence a small number in their home or church.  We already have more than seven countries represented.

“Imagine a moment when the children around the world would be united singing, laughing, learning, praying, and lifted up with the gospel message of courage, hope, help, and love,” WOW-VBS Co-Producer Steve Pennington said. “That would be, WOW!”
